Frequently Asked Questions

Find below the answers to frequently asked questions.

Why do I need a code?

The code serves dual purposes; it connects a questionnaire response with a school, and it prevents anyone who is not a student at a participating school from using the app and contaminating the data. The code cannot be reused which maintains full anonymity and stops code circulation.

Who sees my responses? Where does it go?

Teachers have access to anonymous student responses via a web-based application. The demographic data collected (age, gender, ethnicity, and year group) does not allow a person to be identified. Through their dashboard teachers have access to data on the general well-being of their students.

Why should I bother? What if I don’t want to do it?

The questionnaire is there to help you gauge where you are on a wellness level.
There is no obligation to do so. It's there for you. The aim is to help your school to develop well-being initiatives tailored to your needs.

What if I want professional help?

Thought Score is not a substitute for professional medical advice.
It is, though, supported by Gumboot Friday’s counselling care service. To talk to a counsellor for free, head over to Gumboot Friday website.

I’m fine, should I do it?

If you feel good, that's great.
We still encourage you to fill out the questionnaire, it will just confirm what you already feel, or you never know, you might be surprised by your answers.

Is it a one-off questionnaire?

Your school is encouraged to rollout the Thought Score questionnaire on a regular basis. Like everyone else, your emotions can change from one day to the next, month to month, and so on. And, the tool is there to assess your needs as closely as possible.

Will I know my score?

Yes, at the end of the questionnaire you are given an indication of your current well-being state.
